Just listened to this new album from Jean Grae -- one of my favorite artists and arguably the dopest female emcee on the planet -- and I literally haven't stopped smiling. Let's just say, it's very rare that I finish listening to an album in full and then just restart it from the beginning right away. This album is for anybody who strongly dislikes people that are rude to waitstaff, talk loudly on cell phones in public, or don't understand the order to get off an airplane... or in Jean's words, people that are f*cking stupid.

It's an album abt NOT BEING FUCKING STUPID. Hey, @QuelleChris has 3 jams on it too. Get this shit http://t.co/RESy3D2LOy or perish in a fire

"Were you raised in a barn, or raised by wolves? Or raised in a barn by wolves?"
For those familiar with Jean's past work, you're in for a unique treat. She's had her goofy moments in the past (see Talib Kweli's "After the Rain"), but nothing quite like this. The leading lady of Kweli's "Blacksmith Records" croons hilariously blunt observational humor over jazzy, laid back instrumentals, mixing it up now and again with sarcastic monologues and impeccably timed ad-libs. The only comparison I can even think of is the soundtrack from the broadway musical Avenue Q. Notably, she doesn't spit a single rap, and honestly, it's misleading to call this a hip-hop album. She's doing something else entirely; utterly fresh, inspirationally honest, and absolutely hysterical.

Long story short, this is an extremely worthwhile use of your next 25 minutes. And who knows, maybe you'll even learn a thing or two about how to act right!
